Update on the DeGarmeaux Family

I know that many of you, whether you personally knew the deGarmeaux's or not, have been praying for them. I've had many people ask me how they are doing. Thank you so much for continuing to remember them in prayer. I know it's been over 3 weeks ago since he was hit by a car, but their grief is not something that will just go away. The news recently did a segment with Gabe, Deacon's father. I'd encourage you to check it out. Keep a tissue box handy. One thing that I have been extremely impressed with is how solid their faith is. I know it's not because they are super human or anything. In fact, there are three things that I think contribute to that:

  1. They know and serve a Faithful, Loving God.
  2. They seek to know His truths.
  3. They have a huge network of people who are praying for them during this.
So, I'd like to encourage you to listen to our Pastor Brad's sermon the Sunday following Deacon's memorial. He talks about how important it is to put in lots of deep, heavy truths so that we can weather the storms we face. I'm thankful to see that the deGarmeaux's have done that. And secondly, keep praying for them. Deacon would have turned 3 on April 30th. Lilly turns 5 on May 1st. Pray that they are able to celebrate the lives of their children well.
